Public Notice - Audit Committee Vacant Seats

The City of Panama City Beach is currently soliciting volunteers to serve in two vacant seats on the Audit Committee.

The Committee, which was established in 2014 by Resolution No. 15-05 and whose makeup was modified by Resolution No. 20-42, assists the City Council when selecting an auditor to conduct the annual financial audit, in accordance with Section 218.391 of the Florida Statutes, and reviews the annual audit, and performs other duties per City Resolution. 

Qualifications: Each Board member shall possess a basic understanding of governmental financial reporting and auditing, and a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as evidenced by a familiarity with reading and reviewing financial statements in one’s capacity as a business owner, investor, banker or holding of another relevant position.

Board members serve in a voluntary capacity, without compensation, and should be available to meet on an as-needed basis at City Hall, 17007 Panama City Beach Parkway.  Typically, once per year. All meetings are advertised and open to the public.
